Beirut - An Ethiopian airplane made an emergency landing at Beirut International Airport on Thursday shortly after take-off due to a technical malfunction. "The plane asked to return to Beirut Airport shortly after take- off due to a malfunction," a Lebanese Airport official said. The official said the plane returned to the airport 20 minutes after take-off due to the technical problem. Flight number 407, with 78 passengers on board, flew back to the airport after the pilot suspected air was leaking from the plane's main door, the official said. "After the plane returned to the airport, the door was checked and necessary technical measures were taken to allow the airliner to fly again to Addis Ababa," the official added. On January 25, 2010, an Ethiopian airliner crashed into the sea near Beirut airport shortly after take off, killing 90 passengers on board, most of whom were Lebanese.
