The heat is on again in the Phoenix area. The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning until 8 p.m. Saturday. Forecasters predict daytime temperatures ranging from 110 to 115 degrees with very warm overnight low temperatures ranging from the mid 80s to around 90 degrees through Saturday. The weather service urges residents to complete any necessary outdoor activity in the early morning when the sun and heat are less intense.

Highs reached 112 degrees in the Phoenix metro area on Friday as National Weather Service officials issued an excessive heat warning. The heat warning was in effect until 8 p.m. for the Phoenix area. An excessive heat warning also was issued from 10 a.m. Saturday through 8 p.m. Monday and covers all of Maricopa County and northwest Pinal County. Highs are expected to reach between 110 and 115 degrees, and overnight lows will range from the mid-80s to the low-90s. Weather Service meteorologist Dan Liens says normally at this time of year, the highs are around 105 degrees. Weather experts urge people to finish any necessary outdoor activity in the early morning when the sun and heat are less intense.
