Salt Lake County sendet Chevron die Rechnung
Salt Lake County will charge Chevron tens of thousands of dollars for the cleanup of an oil spill that sullied Red Butte Creek. The county announced the bill Friday, reporting that Chevron will have to pay $53,491.31 to cover the cost of placing booms, taking water samples and scrubbing birds in the aftermath of a June 12 spill that released an estimated 33,000 gallons of oil. The bill reflects all services provided between the time of the spill and June 24. More expenses likely will come, according to Jeff Graviet, the county’s emergency services coordinator.
