Bob Dylan's Ost-Asien-Tour abgesagt: China verweigert Auftritte

Dylan's planned tour of east Asia later this month has been called off after Chinese officials refused permission for him to play in Beijing and Shanghai, his local promoters said. China's ministry of culture, which vets planned concerts by overseas artists, appeared wary of Dylan's past as an icon of the counterculture movement, said Jeffrey Wu, of the Taiwan-based promoters Brokers Brothers Herald.

Der alte Mann war da und hat abgeliefert. Ich habe Dylan vor Jahren schon mal auf seiner Never Ending Tour gesehen und kann deshalb sagen: Das war wie immer. Er kommt, kippt eine Fuhre Musik vor den Zuhörern aus und fährt weiter, wie ein Spediteur. Die einzigen Worte, die er während der 90 Minuten sagt, kommen nach der ersten Zugabe „Like a Rolling Stone“: Er stellt knarzend seine Band vor. Zweite Zugabe „Forever Young“, grußloser Abgang, Licht an.

Bob Dylan in Vietnam: nur ca. 4000 Konzertbesucher
The American singer and songwriter, known for his anti-war anthems, gave a special concert yesterday in the former Saigon, nearly 36 years after the Vietnam War ended.Dylan, 69, jammed on stage in a black jacket, purple shirt and white hat in the warm evening air, singing favourites such as "A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall" and "Highway 61 Revisited". Only about half of the 8,000 seats at RMIT University were sold to a mix of Vietnamese and foreigners who danced on the grass as Dylan played guitar, harmonica and the keyboard.
